RADFORD, Va. -

The doubleheader basketball games at Radford's Dedmon Center were not Saturday's main feature.

An event called Shave for Sutton took center stage.

Members of the Radford baseball team and fans alike shaved their heads in support of Sutton Smith.

The 5-year-old is a huge Highlander fan and is battling leukemia.

Local barbers and the coaching staff helped with giving everyone their new look.

For Sutton's family, the show of support was overwhelming.

"We've just been so blessed," said Sutton's mom, Mary Smith. "They've just been so great with him and it's amazing to see young community members just come together and support him and just take him into their family."

The Highlanders also adopted Sutton as part of their team.
