The Virginia Department of Health is offering free vaccines to uninsured people at the Hillsville Flea Market on Labor Day weekend.
Tdap, pneumonia and flu vaccines will be available from Friday to Monday. Pneumonia vaccines will only be given to people 65 and over, on a first-come, first-served basis.
Vaccines will be available from the district’s mobile health clinic at the Race-In Marathon gas station (1067 West Stuart Dr., Hillsville) on Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. until noon.
Vaccines are free to those without insurance. For those with insurance, the carrier will be billed. There will be no out-of-pocket cost for anyone.
The health department is partnering with Twin County Prevention Coalition and InTotal Health, who will provide health education information and free water, cooling neck cloths and other convenience items.
