WYTHE CO., Va. -

Grayson County Commonwealth’s Attorney Douglas Vaught has been appointed as  special prosecutor in the investigation of two George Wythe High School football coaches.

Vaught told WDBJ7 that he has ''not decided" if he will pursue charges against the coaches. The coaches were suspended over the accusations.

The investigation stems from an alleged incident where the coaches reportedly told a football player to place chains around his neck, and then told him to run up and down bleachers while other student-athletes looked on.

Vaught says he was named special prosecutor on Feb 25. Vaught said Wythe County Commonwealth’s Attorney Gerlad Mabe withdrew from the case because of a ''conflict of interest.'' Vaught said he could not confirm what the conflict was involving Mabe.
