Most kids look forward to indulging on sweet treats on Halloween, but childhood obesity is a big problem.


That's why the upcoming Spooky Sprint 5K race in Roanoke will raise money to fight childhood obesity through nutrition programs at the West End Center for Youth.


Along with its after school program and educational services, the center works to develop healthy habits in kids.

The Spooky Sprint is happening Saturday, October 26. Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. at Wasena Park in Roanoke. The race itself starts at 10:00

Click here to preregister for $20.00 through October 19.  After that, the cost is $25.00 per runner.
