ROANOKE, Va. -

Monday’s strong winds knocked out power in one Roanoke neighborhood.

A tree fell down along Welton Avenue near Grace Street around11 a.m.

It knocked out power to a couple homes in the area for most of the day.

A portion of Grace Street was closed off to traffic while crews worked.

Roanoke city crews spent the day cutting the tree to remove it while Appapalachian Power crews tried to restore power.

No one was injured.
