A swarm of bees caused traffic to slow in Marion Friday.

Just before 4 p.m., business owners in the town of Marion called town hall to report that a swarm of bees had stopped traffic in the downtown area.

Several thousand bees converged on a car owned by Jim Gross of Marion.
It happened on Main Street.

A local beekeeper arrived and captured the bees in hives.

Traffic was slowed for about an hour during this process, according to Marion Director of Community and Economic Development, Ken Heath.
