The Roanoke Police Department has released a composite sketch of the person reported to have sexually assaulted a teenager last week.
The person is described a tall, older black male and have a gray goatee and bumps, similar to acne on his forehead.
He was described as wearing a medium brown, three-quarter length coat and blue jeans that were loose fit.
Police are looking for a man accused of sexually assaulting a teenager in Roanoke.
Officers were called to Rutherford Avenue on Wednesday night to investigate a report of a runaway teenager who hadn’t been seen since about 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Officers and family members searched several places but were unable to locate the girl. Around 2 a.m. Thursday, they were told that the teenager showed up at a neighbor’s house.
That’s when the teen reported that she had been sexually assaulted earlier in the night in an alley near 6th Street and Patton Avenue.
The victim did not know the offender, according to the Roanoke Police Department.
Detectives are working to get more information about the suspect.

On January 15, 2014 at approximately 11:16 p.m. the Roanoke Police Department was called to the 800 block of Rutherford Avenue to investigate a report of a runaway teenager. The officers were advised the teenager was last seen at approximately 7 p.m. on this date. Officers worked with family members to search several locations where they thought the teenager might be, but did not locate the teenager. At approximately 2 a.m. on January 16th officers were notified that the teenager had arrived at a neighbor's residence.
The teenager reported being the victim of a sexual assault earlier in the night in an alley near 6th Street and Patton Avenue.
Early indications from the investigation are that the victim did not know the offender. The offender is described at this time as an older black male, short hair, wearing a brown coat and blue jeans. Detectives are working on developing additional descriptors of the suspect and more details regarding the timeline of the victim's movements throughout the night, pending the ability to further talk with the victim in detail. Until that time, additional details are not available.
