The Roanoke City Market takes over Riverside Park
Vendors will set up at the park every Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m.
There's a new way to get some of the freshest food around.
One a week Roanoke's City Market is taking over Riverside Park.
It'll be like this every Thursday until the end of August.
You can find everything from fruits and vegetables to tempting sweets, jams and even popular food truck fare.
The downtown City Market will continue to operate seven days a week.
This new Thursday night market is designed for those who can't make it downtown.
Everything sold at the City Market comes from local farms.
"I feel like the people out there who are producing good food ought to get local support from people. So, you know, I'd hate to see anything happen to the local farmers in a negative way," said Eric Lawson.
The market is located at The Riverside Sports Complex and offers free parking.
Vendors will be in place from 4 to 7 p.m.
