BEDFORD COUNTY, Va. -

Donations are coming in every day to help a horse in Bedford County.

A picture of Tyree Bryant's horse "Thunder" was recently posted on Facebook and got a lot of people talking.  The image showed the horse tied to a telephone pole when there were very low temperatures in our region.

According to animal control, Bryant isn’t doing anything illegal.

WDBJ 7 spoke to Bryant about the horse and he said he doesn't have the money to build a proper shelter for the animal.

Now, a local horse trainer is raising money to help out.

Katie Gardner works at her family farm in Bedford County. She created an account on the website GO FUND ME to raise funds to help out the Bryants.

So far, she’s raised nearly $4,000. She hopes her efforts will make people think twice about helping others in need this holiday season.

"I hope people will see this as a message to just be kind and be helpful don't judge and don't react with meanness,” she said.

The donations will be used to build a new fence and shed for the horse. Volunteers hope to complete the project for the Bryant's by Christmas.
