CRAIG CO., Va. -

In January, we told you that the school was in need of critical repairs, but to save money, it would rely on volunteers for most of the manual labor.

A few weeks after our story, Member One Federal Credit Union in Roanoke donated over a thousand celing tiles and dozens of light fixtures to the school.

Craig County Schools Superintendent Kelly Wilmore says Member One was getting ready to upgrade its facility, realized its ceiling tiles were useable but not what they wanted, and decided to donate the materials to the school.

School leaders installed the ceiling tiles in the elementary school already and say the donation saved between 30 and 40 thousand dollars.
