CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. -

The University of Virginia Health System has released a new app that helps parents and families personalize their hospital experience.

The service is free for families at U.Va.'s Children's Hospital.

The app shows information like important phone numbers, medical records and services the hospital offers.

It even gives you directions and a checklist for your next visit.

The university has signed agreements with Apple and Google Play app stores.

Apps called Pegasus and Health System Docs are currently in the works through the Mobile Development Program.
