It's usually busy with students walking to class and kids taking a break..

But Sunday, Virginia Tech's Drillfield was transformed for Community Day.

The university's police department hosted the event.

There were multiple stations on-hand, like "drunk goggle carts" which simulate drunk driving.

Community day coincides with parents' weekend.

"It's just here to make you feel like a community and make you aware of what the community has to offer for you, what services," explains Virginia Tech student & rescue volunteer Hannah Koontz.

The event was free.

First responders from around the NRV were also on hand.
