ROANOKE CO., Va. -

The Green Ridge Recreation Center closed its outdoor pool today for the tenth time this summer because of the rainy weather.

People who run the center say their rain check policy has come in handy at Splash Valley this year.

Attendance is down nearly thirty percent because of the weather, but it doesn't have managers worried.

“So far this year, we've had 14,000 visitors, which is down about 6,000 from what we had this point last year, considering the rain days, it's really not too bad, we know people are showing up when the weather is nice,” Scott Ramsburg of Roanoke County Parks and Recreation said.

Managers say the indoor pool has stayed busy for those wanting to swim.
