DANVILLE, Va. -

A woman and child are being treated for non-life threatening injuries after being struck by a car this morning in Danville.

Danville Police responded to Piney Forest Road and Maplewood Street just after 8:00 a.m. Thursday for a report of a car wreck involving pedestrians.

According to a news release, investigation revealed that a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder was traveling south on Piney Forest Road when it hit a 21-year-old woman and a 6-year-old boy while they were trying to cross the road.

The woman and boy were transported to Danville Regional Medical Center for treatment.

No charges have been filed at this time and the investigation is continuing.
