ROANOKE, Va. -

A woman is being held in jail without bond in connection to a stabbing Sunday night in Roanoke.

The incident happened shortly before 10 p.m. in the 800 block of Hunt Avenue. When officers responded to the area they saw several people leaving, but they didn’t see a fight. About 20 minutes later a 37-year-old woman arrived at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital with two stab wounds to her shoulders and a small cut on her face.

A warrant was issued for Charlene Bryant, 39, of Roanoke. She later turned herself into police. Bryant is being held in the Roanoke City Jail without bond.

Bryant and the victim knew each other. The fight was about a previous issue between the two women, according to investigators.
