Roanoke Police have released the name of the woman who was hit and killed along Shenandoah Avenue early Saturday morning.

Sandra Loughry was 45 years old and from Roanoke.

Right now, police still are looking for whoever hit Loughry. 


Roanoke Police need your help after an early morning hit and run that left a woman dead.

It happened just before two o'clock Saturday morning in the 3-thousand block of Shenandoah Avenue, Northwest.

Police tell WDBJ7, a woman was walking down the street when she was hit from behind by a vehicle.

The driver took off.

The woman- who hasn't been identified- was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police describe the vehicle as a small to medium sedan, probably with fresh passenger side damage.
