Adults come up with new business ideas all the time but its a whole new story when it's middle and high school students.

That's what happened this evening at Central Virginia Community College in Lynchburg and we were there to hear their pitches.

These kids’ drive to succeed is well beyond their age.

The students are hoping that after presenting their idea to an investor panel, their business will take off running.

Sixth through twelfth graders from all over Lynchburg were asked to come up with a business plan that could be launched in seven months.

Some students used the problem solving strategy.

A total of 11 businesses were presented and each group received funding to help get started.

The winner was Doceo Data.

They make online training guides for Microsoft Office applications that are geared specifically to high school students.

This team will head to Florida in May for a national competition.
