Zombie Walk for a Cause held in Vinton
Proceeds from the event goes to the Vinton Needy Family Program.
The undead were very much alive Saturday night in Vinton!
More than 100 zombies shuffled along West Lee Avenue for the Zombie Walk for a Cause.
This is the first year for the event, which organizers are calling a success. Money raised from tonight's zombie walk will benefit the Vinton Needy Family Program for the upcoming holidays.
"Zombies are a trend right now," says Mary Beth Layman, who's the Special Programs Director for the Town of Vinton. "To know that they're giving back to the community and giving to others makes it worth their effort to put on their zombie makeup and drag their foot down the block as they walk."
After the walk, the zombies cut loose a little bit with a "Thriller Dance-Off," and told ghost stories in the parking lot.
