For many people, decorating for the holidays would not be complete without a wreath.
And as News 7's Bob Grebe found out, if you're going to have a wreath, fresh cut greens is a great way to go.
Lots of people go to the Roanoke City Market each holiday season to buy their wreath from Woods Farms.
Mark Woods and his family have been selling fresh produce on the Roanoke City Market for as long as anyone can remember.  They "branched out" into making wreaths in the mid-90s and the process has been a work in the progress ever since.

"It's been a lot of fun and interesting," said Mark Woods.  "You learn something new every year."
The Woods use Fraser fir and white pine trees from Floyd County and metal rings from West Virginia.
"We make kind of like an assembly line.  We have one person who cuts the material, and one person who makes bunches, and one person who puts them in the squeeze machine there."
It's a time consuming process and repetitive.
"At the beginning of the season you're gung ho and you can really spit out the wreaths," said Woods.  "But you can get pretty tired."
