Every year millions of animals die in shelters because there is an over population of pets available.
That's why the motto of Mountain View Humane spay and neuter clinic is, "it's hip to snip."  To date, the clinic has performed more than 5,800 surgeries.
News 7 Mornin's Bob Grebe was there for this week's "Do My Job, Bob."
"For every animal we can spay or neuter it's that many fewer pets that will not show up in a shelter," said Kelly Cass, Mountain View Humane executive director.  "According to statistics, for every 4 pets that get spayed or neutered that keeps 3 or 4 out of the shelter. So every time we add to that 5,800 we're helping out the local shelters."
