Helping kids like Emily is the mission of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. It is the leading charitable funder and advocate of Type 1 diabetes research worldwide.
Emily's mom, Jill maddy is chairman of the 9th annual Denim and Diamonds Gala in Roanoke to benefit the JDRF.
The event is happening Saturday, March 24 at the Shenandoah Club in Roanoke at 5:30 p.m. You can enjoy a fun evening, and bid on auction items to raise money for the JDRF. Gala tickets are $100.00 each. WDBJ7's Jean Jadhon will serve again as emcee.
Among this year's gala auction items are a beach getaway, tickets to Wintergreen Resort and a Nintendo Wii game console.
