In light of attacks like those at Sandy Hook Elementary and Virginia Tech, there is a new focus on school safety at all levels.
Virginia Western Community College was recently ranked as the safest college of 2012 in Virginia, and the eighth nationally in a list compiled by StateUniversity.com.
The list is based on incidents of campus crimes as reported by campus safety leaders.
