Students at Boones Mill Elementary school got a lesson in culture Friday morning when a Chinese acrobat group put on a show in their gymnasium.
The performance was a creative way to fulfill the cultural requirement for the state Standards of Learning.
The group of acrobats travels across the U.S. to teach the more creative side of Chinese culture.
Boones Mill Elementary School Principal Tomeka Campbell says the show did the trick, and the students were extremely engaged.
“They're excited, they're applauding, they are really enjoying it. We've heard a lot of oohs and ahhs; they've really been enjoying the show,” Campbell said.
Campbell also dressed up in a snowman outfit as a gift to the students for meeting the school's reading goals.
