Norfolk Southern is putting demolition plans for the Boones Mill Train Depot on hold until further notice.
Your Hometown News Leader received an email from Robin Chapman with the railroad. He said the company will be sending the town a letter outlining their position shortly. One of the lead preservationists trying to save the depot, Lois Slotnick, says she was informed by Senator Warner's office that the railroad company was going to grant a one-year extension but so far she hasn't received confirmation from Norfolk Southern.
