A dog was rescued from a house fire Friday morning near Smith Mountain Lake.
Companies from Smith Mountain Lake Marine Fire/Rescue, Moneta, Saunders, Huddleston, and Bedford all responded to the fire on Smithview Drive around 8 a.m.
According to the Smith Mountain Lake Marine Fire/Rescue, when crews arrived on scene they found electric lines done and propane tanks venting.
No one was inside the home, but a dog was rescued from the garage.
Crews were on scene until around 1 p.m.
