It's was all about saving lives one prick at a time in Roanoke today.
The Junior League of the Roanoke Valley partnered with Virginia Blood Services for their annual Community Blood Drive.
This event has become one of the largest blood drives in the valley.
Organizers say people who give blood are truly making a difference.
"This is a succesful event for us. People really can wrap their minds around saving lives and doing their part to help," said Junior League President, Amy Foster.
Today's event was the eleventh annual blood drive for the league.
All of the blood donated will stay here in the Roanoke Valley.

The Junior League of the Roanoke Valley is hosting it's 11th annual Community Blood Drive on Saturday.
The blood drive is at Grandin Court Baptist Church in Roanoke from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
It's one of the Valley's largest blood drives and one donation helps save three lives.
Snacks and drinks will be provided for every donor.
Donors will also get a free t-shirt and tumbler cup.
All donors are asked to have a valid ID or VBS donor card with them at registration.
