150 jobs coming to Halifax County

A new customer call center for Dominion Virginia Power will bring 150 jobs to Halifax County.  The announcement was made Thursday morning in Halifax County.

The governor's office says Dominion and  Fanuiel, Inc. will invest $1.5 million in the partnership project.  The move will double Domion's call center employees in Southern Virginia.

“The center in Halifax County accomplishes the twin goals of providing good jobs here and enhancing the level of service for our customers,” said Paul D. Koonce, Dominion Virginia Power’s chief executive officer.

Also Thursday morning, Amazon.com announced it would create two new fulfillment operations in the Richmond area, creating 1,350 jobs.  Click here for more on that story.
