Roanoke got a "Taste of Culture" after the group Local Color brought Sudan traditions to downtown.
People watched different Sudanese dances, arts and crafts, as well as taste authentic homemade foods.
Pearl Fu, Roanoke’s Ambassador for Good Will, says this event emphasizes one culture at a time. "People never think of Roanoke as a very diversified place and they're so amazed to find out we actually have 97 cultures here in the Roanoke Valley."
This is the sixth year for the event and group leaders say they're hoping this will help the public learn and embrace other cultures and traditions all over the region.
