Cherokee Storm Davis is missing both of her kidneys and in search of a donor. In the meantime, Davis explains what makes her feel at ease. "Sometimes I come in here and lie down and watch TV or just take a nap and that makes me feel better," said Davis.
Cherokee Storm Davis has Renal Dysplasia; a disease that doesn't allow her kidney's to grow.
Davis takes nearly 40 pills a day and she's been on dialysis for the past three years.
Her father Matt Davis says it’s his little girls’ strength that inspires him. "She has so much more strength than I have. There's no way I could go through what she's been through."
With medicine and machines surrounding her bed, her mother Julie Davis says she always makes sure to give her a comforting message every night. "I'll see you in the morning because you never know if you will. I've lost her twice and they've brought her back to me and I can't do it again."
Davis was rushed to the hospital twice before because she quit breathing. Her mother says Davis needs a live donor soon, or her sickness will become worse.
Davis hasn't been able to urinate on her own for several years now.
A tube's connected to her stomach and she frequently gets sick. Her older brother Jason Davis says he tries to stay strong for her. "When she's sick like that, I wish there was some way I could help my little sister."
Davis hopes to find her the perfect donor match soon. She says she wants to live a long life so she can one day help sick animals.

To help with health care costs, there will be a fundraiser this Saturday at Crossroads Ruritan Club in Ferrum.
There will be a raffle, bbq and live music and Cherokee Davis will be there to greet everyone.
