UPDATE: Route 130 in Amherst County closed for grand jury investigation into deadly February wreck

State police had to shut down a major road Wednesday to investigate a deadly accident.      

Routes 501 and 130 were closed for an eight mile stretch in Amherst and Rockbridge counties.

The highway was being used for a grand jury investigation.

Prosecutors in Amherst County are hoping to bring charges against a driver that was involved in a deadly crash earlier this year.

The accident killed Dennis Cash, a tow truck driver from Madison Heights.

We don't know the name of the driver that's being investigated or when the grand jury might pass down an indictment.

Expect delays on Route 130 in Amherst County on Wednesday afternoon.

The Virginia Department of Transportation is reconstructing an accident from earlier this year.

Traffic will be restricted starting around 1:30 p.m. at the intersection of Route 130 and Route 501 in Amherst County.

The delays are expected to last about two hours.
