A federal appeals court in Richmond is set to rehear Liberty University's challenge to the Obama administration's health care law.
The 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals set a Feb. 27 deadline for the Lynchburg university's brief in the case and oral arguments are scheduled in May.
In November, the Supreme Court ordered the appeals court to consider the claim by Liberty that the health care law violates the school's religious freedoms.
Liberty is challenging both the requirement that most individuals obtain health insurance or pay a penalty, and a separate provision requiring many employers to offer health insurance to their workers.
The News & Advance says that Liberty attorney Mathew Staver called the law a "gross snub to constitutional liberties."
The Supreme Court upheld the law in June.
