Attempt to sell Advance Auto Parts to private equity firm is reportedly "sputtering"

We have a follow-up to reports that Roanoke-based Advance Auto Parts is up for sale. 

Last month, Reuters and other news organizations said Advance was exploring the sale of the company to private equity firms.

But now the New York Post says most of the potential buyers have dropped out, and the auction is quote "sputtering."

Advance Spokesperson Shelly Whitaker declined to comment on the latest report.
