Auction planned at former Thomasville complex in Appomattox

New owners could soon take over one of the Lynchburg area's largest industrial properties.

The old Thomasville Furniture plant in Appomattox is going up for auction this week.

The building has 830-thousand square feet of space, and still houses a large amount of manufacturing equipment.

Thomasville was one of the area's largest employers, before downsizing and eventually closing earlier this year.

The auction is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. Wednesday.
