Information sharing between the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office and Christiansburg Police Department is being credited with solving a string of burglaries in the County and two people are now facing charges in connection with the crimes.

Tammy Lee Williams, 38, is charged with:

•         3 counts of Grand Larceny of a Firearm

•         4 counts of Grand Larceny

•         4 counts of Breaking and Entering

Andrew Miles Hamilton, 25, is charged with:

•         1 count of Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon

•         4 counts of Grand Larceny

•         4 counts of Breaking and Entering

•         3 counts of Grand Larceny of a Firearm.

The pair have been linked to burglaries at residences on Red Hawk Run, Surface Road, and North Fork Road, as well as numerous businesses, including the Tobacco Inn, Plum Creek Restaurant, and Sandstone Market in Montgomery County and Crockett Home Improvement in Christiansburg.

After the burglary on Red Hawk Run, Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Investigators canvassed nearby houses to interview neighbors and developed a solid description of possible suspects and the vehicle they were driving.

This information was shared with nearby jurisdictions, including the Christiansburg Police Department.  When CPD officers responded to a burglary-in-progress in the 1200 block of Radford St. at Crockett Home Improvement early Friday morning, they located two people in a vehicle nearby and recognized similarities to the description provided by the Sheriff's Office, including the color and style of vehicle and a tattoo on the back of Williams's neck.  Officers also allegedly found shards of broken glass believed to be from the burglary at Crockett Home Improvement on the floor of the vehicle.

A subsequent search warrant executed at the pair's home in Christiansburg recovered numerous stolen items, including four flat screen television sets, three firearms, and a laptop computer.

Both Tammy Williams and Andrew Hamilton are currently being held in the Montgomery County Jail on no bond.

Additional charges are expected to be forthcoming.
