Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run accident in Henry County that happened Tuesday night
Investigators say Jason Slaughter of Bassett was pushing his bicycle south along Route 673 around 9:30 p.m. when he was hit from behind by a car. The car did not stop.
Slaughter died before he could be taken to the hospital. He was 59.
