There were some smooth jams today in Downtown Roanoke. It was part of a benefit concert to help victims of Hurricane Sandy. All proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross and the organization could certainly use the money. The Red Cross has provided nearly 3.5 million meals and more than 125,000 relief items to hurricane victims. But there's more work to be done.

We spoke with Meg Carter, a Red Cross volunteer. “I think one of my fears is that as the media coverage of the storm wanes, people will forget--it will go out of their memories. We move into the holiday season and people who lost everything who had their homes swept away--they need relief. They need help. They need us to continue to think about them,” said Carter.
