After 30 years, a restaurant in Blacksburg says it's had enough.
Backstreets restaurant has been part of the Blacksburg scene since the mid 1980's. It's been part of the landscape for a couple of generations now.
A few months ago, the management decided that it finally wanted to take a rest after three decades. It quietly put the place on the market and found a buyer almost right away.
Erik Sturm is the general manager, "We're trying just kinda to take it to a certain point and say good-bye and leave with some grace and dignity and be able to hold our heads high rather than close up in the middle of the night because we couldn't pay the bills or anything like that so we want to leave with a good feeling."
This coming Saturday, Backstreets says it will close its doors for good.
