Campbell County artists fill empty bowls to feed hungry

Some artists in Campbell County are making sure no one goes hungry this Chirstmas.

They've created handmade pottery for a fundraiser called "empty bowls."  For just $10.00, people are buying ceramic bowls and filling them with soup.

All of the profits will go to Campbell County's Rural Emergency Assistance Program, or "REAP", which helps hungry families.

"REAP uses the money to buy food and food items necessary for families that find themselves in dire circumstances and it's especially needed at this time of year," said Jenna Brubaker, an artist based in Concord who helped organize this year's event.

Meals are being served at the Rustburg Ruritan Club until 6:30 p.m. Thursday.  A donation of any amount will get you all the soup and bread you can eat, regardless of whether you buy a bowl.
