Child seriously injured after Roanoke County crash

A child's been taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries being in a car that was hit by a tractor trailer Wednesday evening.

It happened shortly before 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of Williamson Road and Summer View Drive.

Officers tell Your Hometown News Leader that a car pulled out in front of the tractor trailer on Williamson.  Two adults were taken to the hospital, but are expected to be okay.

A juvenile inside the car, however, has life-threatening injuries.

Officers say alcohol and/or drugs were not a factor, and charges are pending.

 

Here's information from the Roanoke County Police Department:

On Wednesday, Feb 6 2013, Officers of the Roanoke County Police Department responded to a two vehicle crash on Williamson Road at the intersection of Summer View Drive involving a passenger car and a tractor trailer.

Intial investigation shows that the passenger car turned into the path of the tractor trailor which was traveling northbound on Williamson Road.

Two adults were transported with non-life threatening injuries; one juvenile was transported with life threatening injuries.

The crash reamins under investigation.
