The shelves at the Community Christmas store in Roanoke County got a lot fuller when the Marines arrived Thursday with children's toys.
This year the Community Christmas store in Roanoke County is helping out 500 families in need.
Although they work year-around to collect donations, they say that the Marines are an important contributor to filling the shelves with toys.
"Without the Marines it would be very difficult to serve our families with toys because our store runs on complete donations," said merchandise chairperson Deanna Sheppard. "Whether it be money or merchandise or toys and that's why we get very excited when the marines are going to be stopping by and bringing a big truck of toys."
The Community Christmas store is open until December 8.
