You don't have to talk to many women cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy to find out it's emotionally draining.
Today a few organizations teamed together to boost their spirits.
It was a day of pampering for women battling all sorts of cancer.
Local make-up artists and hair designers gave the women tips on looking their best while dealing with the worst.
Organizers just wanted the women to focus on themselves rather than their condition.
"When people leave it's the beginning of something. They'll be leaving with ideas about themselves about how to look great and do it on an ongoing basis," said Melanie Vaughan with the Cancer Resource Center of Southern Virginia.
Survivors were also welcome to the event hosted by the Danville Regional Medical center.
Manicures and facials and wig fittings didn't set the women back financially, all resources and tips were free.
