A scam alert to tell you about from Dominion Virginia Power.
The utility says a new phone scam has hit people in our area. A customer will get a call from someone claiming to be a Dominion worker, collecting a bill.
The scammer threatens to shut off the customer's power if they don't give personal information.
Police say the scammers are mainly targeting Spanish-speaking families and the elderly.
