Educator running for House of Delegates

A mom who homeschools her children wants to be your next delegate.

On Monday, Freeda Cathcart launched her campaign in downtown Roanoke.

The democrat is running for delegate in district 17 which covers part of Botetourt and Roanoke Counties.

This mother of four boys considers herself a community activist.


"I got out there and went to Richmond and talked with the legislators and made a difference in the community and I'm willing to stand on the floor of the general assembly and continue to make a difference," said Carthcart

She was joined by fellow democrat and state senator John Edwards who's running for re-election

Cathcart used to work in insurance and public education.
