Election not over yet, Virginia's electoral college set to vote next week

We know President Obama won the election last month but voting is far from over.

Congressional districts in every state choose an elector to cast the official ballot of the region.

In Virginia's 5th district that man is Chris Daniel.

Daniel is the chair of the Danville Democratic party and will cast the district's ballot next week in Richmond.

Typically this vote goes unnoticed but Daniel believes this moment is a good lesson in government for everyone.

"Most folks aren't familiar with the electoral college. It's something I've been aware of because I follow social studies and government. And it will just be a very rare and unusual opportunity for me," said Chris Daniel, a 5th district elector.

He'll join 12 other electors from across the state.

This is the second time since 1964 Democrats have been part of the electoral vote in Virginia.
