It's called "Fancy Hill". And next week the historical home in Rockbridge County will host a holiday tour
The 24-room home was built 230 years ago and has quite a history. It's been a tavern, a jail, even a boy's boarding school. And for the past seven years, the homeowners have been transforming it into a place where visitors will experience the holidays like never before. The tour incluldes the Santa Museum, which includes 16 life size santas.
We spoke to Genie Vaughn about the joy her home will being to many. “The smiles that you see on the faces from the people that are astonished by the things they see--I just want them to go away with a real joy in their heart,” she said.
You can tour the home Saturday, December 8th from 10 to 6. The cost is $10 for adults and it's free for kids. Proceeds will benefit the weekday religious education program in Rockbridge County. For more information contact Genie Vaughn at 540-464-1564.
