ROANOKE, Va—
Doctors say the flu is hitting Virginia hard this year.
An update from the Centers for Disease Control shows the Commonwealth in the red zone, which is the highest category for flu cases reported in the states.
You can see on the map attached to this story, most southern states are seeing a high number of cases.
Doctors say the reason the flu might be so bad this year is because last year was so mild.
