Former Franklin Co. deputy accused of killing ex-wife waives preliminary hearing

A quick day in court for the ex-Franklin County deputy accused of killing his ex-wife and getting into a shootout on Memorial Day.

Jonathan Agee spent only a few minutes in a Roanoke City courtroom. He waived his right to a preliminary trial Tuesday. Agee is still in a wheelchair after being shot multiple times by state police on Interstate 81.

He is charged in Roanoke with killing his ex-wife, Jenny Agee, at the Sheetz gas station on Orange Avenue.

He then is said to have driven in a chase with state police, shooting a trooper before being taken into custody.

His murder charge could be certified by a grand jury the first week of August.
