Former Virginia Supreme Court Chief Justice Harry Carrico dies at age 96

Governor Bob McDonnell has ordered the state flag be flown at half-staff  to honor former Virginia Supreme Court Chief Justice Harry Carrico.

Carrico retired in 2003 after 42 years on the Supreme Court, the last 22 years as Chief Justice.   

He continued to serve as Senior Justice after that.   

His tenure as a justice was the longest in the court's history. Carrico was 96.
