A four-year-old Campbell County boy has died from injuries he received in a car accident Tuesday morning.
The accident happened around 8:30, at the intersection of Doss Road and Route 460 in Concord.
State Police Trooper Daniel House tells WDBJ7 that Jocelyn Billi, a 23-year-old from Rustburg, was driving north on Doss Road. House says Billi was driving too fast and hit a embankment. Her car came to a stop in the eastbound lanes of 460, where she was hit by a cargo van owned by the Aqua Pros pool company. According to House, the van "never had a chance to slow down."
Billi's four-year-old son, Andrew David Johnson, was sitting in a booster seat behind Billi. He was badly injured in the accident and taken to Lynchburg General Hospital, where he died a short time later.
Billi and two people in the cargo van were also taken to the hospital. Their injuries were not life threatening, according to House.
Charges are pending against Billi.
