In Franklin County Schools, a new leader takes the helm as superintendent--but he's certainly no stranger. Dr. Mark Church has worked as an administrator and career and technical director for the school district. Church, who is a graduate of Franklin County High School, assumed the new role after serving as interim superintendent since July. “And so I have had that opportunity to work with a great staff, and great administrators and a good community-- so I'm glad that the school board has decided to let me continue and work for the citizens,” said Church.
Dr. Church tells WDBJ7 his top priorities include maintaining high test scores and impressive grades, reducing the average class size and encouraging community involvement.
